Choose Kindness

We need to remember, it’s not just about “not bullying” others. It’s about kindness and friendship as well. You may not have thought about this, but shunning others is a form, albeit not as blatant, of bullying. Think about it, do you like to be ignored, made to feel like you are a nobody?

Look around, your life is made richer by having the different people in your life. From cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to personality in school, work or leisure. I am not saying you need to go out and make friends with everyone you see… just be kind, share a smile, a hello. You never know, they might really need that smile that day and it could lead to increasing their self-esteem enough to try and make friends with someone in their world.

Open yourself up to let others in to your life that may be a little different than you, you will be amazed at what a wonderful new world you will discover.  Close the outside world out for a day and choose to be kind to everyone you meet. Even if they don’t immediately respond, they may look back on their day and think how nice it was of you to make the effort to brighten their day and if not that’s okay… you can sleep well knowing you… choose kindness!
